Howdy Folks!

Summer is moving quickly and we hope yours is going well. Since our last quarterly, we have seen the completion of the Merel lane culvert project. We have also made some significant progress with the neighborhood signs.

In our last meeting, we had the Director of Community Development Joe Dulin come in to talk about different types of solar power and some of their pros and cons. We were also reminded of the bulk electric supply rate the city was negotiating. Many of us have been automatically enrolled unless we opt out.

For our next meeting, we are hoping to have a visit from Councilmen Grayeb and Sie Maroon from Public Works.

Our president, Mason Rue, will be retiring his term at the upcoming quarterly meeting. We appreciate all his hard work serving our community and wish him all the best. Feel free to stop by at the meeting and thank him for his excellent leadership.

Quarterly Joke

Where do young cows eat lunch? … In the calf-ateria.

Quarterly Poem

With Rue My Heart is Laden A.E.Hausman

With rue my heart is laden
for golden friends I had,
For many a light foot maiden
and many a light foot lad.

By brooks to broad for leaping
the barefoot boys are laid.
The rose lipt girls are sleeping
in fields where roses fade.

Around the Block

Here is a space where you can thank your neighbors for a helping hand, congratulate someone on a job well done, or give kudos to someone you saw doing a good deed.

Many of us celebrated Independence Day last week with fireworks, cookouts, and displaying the U.S. Flag. A neighbor wrote in to remind us that we can always up our patriotic game by following the US Flag Code

If you would like to submit your joke, poem, or feel good story to NFNA Quarterly, please send it to Timothy Albertson at timothy.albertson@proton.me

Note: I reserve the right to review and reject any submission if I find it not in alignment with NFNA objectives.
